Diagnose 4.1<br>

These programs run on a PC and communicate with the interface. They will run <br>
on most computers which have a serial port. (Some PCs only have USB ports, <br>
but you may be able to use a USB/serial convertor cable) The programs can <br>
also run in a "simulated" mode even if there is no serial port, interface, <br>
or vehicle attached. This allows you to examine the program or learn how it <br>
works. The programs are free, and they are full versions, not Demos; they <br>
will work with BR interfaces.<br>

o Automatic or manual code definition lookup (all standard Obd II codes and <br>
most manufacterer specific dtc).<br>
o Ability to enter any arbitrary code for lookup purposes.<br>
o Ability to periodically poll for active trouble codes and malfunction <br>
indicator lamp status while simultaneously monitoring other types of data.<br>
* Pending trouble codes: These are similar to normal trouble codes, but they <br>
are set after a single driving cycle, and usually before the check engine <br>
light is illuminated. Useful after repair work has been finished.<br>
* Clear function; Requests vehicle to clear its diagnostic trouble codes, on <br>
board test results, and freeze frame data.<br>
* DataLogger; Optionally records and reads back most raw data on disk drive.<br>
o Timetag option to periodically insert computer time into data stream.<br>
o Place Markers can be inserted into file to facilitate locating the same <br>
position later.<br>
o Playback functions: Sequential (single step or continuous), Jump to record <br>
numbers or place markers, rewind.<br>
* Printout; Option to send most data to the default system printer.<br>
* Mileage monitor; Computes miles per gallon (instantaneous and averaged) as <br>
well as cumulative fuel used and distance travelled. Currently calibrated <br>
for gasoline engines only.<br>
* Simulate mode; Runs without interface attached. Useful to explore and <br>
